Storm-like cloud movement and glowing alpine light shape the atmosphere of this original heavy body acrylic painting by Canadian artist Jeff Dillon. Towering mountain cliffs rise above reflective water and dense evergreen forest, while layered colour transitions move between deep twilight blues and warm sunset gold across the landscape.

A majestic mountain range dominates the background, its steep, rugged cliffs standing tall beneath a swirling, dynamic sky. The vivid hues of the sunset create a dramatic contrast, from the deep purples and blues of the clouds to the radiant gold and orange, fading into the horizon. Below, a tranquil lake reflects the sky’s vibrant colours, while its glassy surface shimmers in shades of teal and emerald. Dense evergreens line the water’s edge, framing the scene with their deep green, textured branches. The landscape is rich with detail, from the intricate shoreline to the distant peaks that stretch beyond the foreground. This painting captures the harmonious relationship between earth, water, and sky, evoking both serenity and awe in its depiction of nature’s grandeur.

On November 29, 2023, I auctioned 100% of the proceeds from the original painting and raised $7,000 in support of the UNHCR Refugee Fund.
