Art for a Cause: Making a Difference

Result: On November 29, 2023, this campaign for this original painting raised and donated $7,000 for the UNHCR Refugee Fund, thank you!!

My painting, titled “#262 – Where Sky Meets the Earth,” represents my concern for the global challenges of social inequality and climate change. My journey with the UNHCR began during the Ukraine/Russian conflict. I wanted to help unite the community of artists and art lovers and do something tangible to help. It sparked a thought: How can my art contribute to their efforts worldwide? I wanted to create a painting that embodied resilience and hope in times of adversity. I’m only one artist, but I have a tremendous and generous-minded following. A community of like-minded people can make a difference, and we did. There is more to be done, and I hope you will be inspired to join me in this effort.

I’ve chosen to support the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. Their unmatched global reputation and prompt emergency response make them a beacon of hope for refugees everywhere. Every cent raised from the auction of this painting will directly aid their vital initiatives both in Canada and globally. Canada has a proud history of supporting refugees, and I’m honoured to be a part of this legacy. Given the world’s pressing issues, it’s our responsibility to help those displaced by circumstances beyond their control. We can use our unique talents and skills to foster a more compassionate world. This is why, in partnership with UNHCR, I’m donating this painting: “Where Sky Meets the Earth.”

This artwork is a piece that carries a powerful message and will contribute directly to UNHCR’s supportive efforts. For more about the UNHCR Canada visit them at www.unhcr.ca.
