联合国表示，截至2022年5月5日，自冲突开始以来，据信已有超过1,200万人逃离了在乌克兰的家园。其中超过570万人越境进入邻国，另有数百万人流离失所，仍留在乌克兰境内。为应对日益严重的人道主义危机，联合国难民事务高级专员公署扩大了在乌克兰及周边地区的行动，为寻求安全与庇护的人们提供支持。

2022年2月至5月期间，这幅名为“团结”的原创画作及限量版印刷品所筹得的全部净利润，均捐赠给联合国难民署乌克兰援助项目。

这幅风景画象征着乌克兰国旗的蓝色与黄色，而向日葵则代表乌克兰的国花。最重要的是，这件作品旨在以视觉形式表达对乌克兰人民的支持、同情与团结，以及他们非凡的坚韧精神。
