當我創作〈Nightwood〉時，我想到的是森林的自然循環，以及當火在適當的地方發生時，如何成為這個循環的一部分。在適當的條件下，火會清除老化的植被，將養分歸還土壤，並為新生命重新開始騰出空間。有些樹木，包括某些松樹，甚至仰賴火焰的熱力來打開毬果、釋放種子。同時，我知道森林火災不只是一幅畫中的概念。它們會帶來真實的損失、煙霧、恐懼與破壞，而世界各地也有男男女女冒著生命危險與之搏鬥。我希望這幅畫能承載這種張力：火焰的力量與危險，以及自然界中可能蘊含的變化、重生與韌性。
