In 2026, my painting #290 - Interwoven by Roots was selected for inclusion in the Society of Canadian Artists’ Open International Juried Exhibition.
This exhibition brought together 180 works chosen from over 1,100 submissions by artists across Canada and internationally, reflecting a wide range of contemporary and representational practices. The selection process involved a multi-stage jury review, where submissions were evaluated for technical excellence, artistic expression, and creative innovation by a panel of experienced artists and professionals.
As part of this process, Interwoven by Roots was awarded an Honourable Mention. This recognition was given to a small group of artists whose work stood out within a highly competitive field, following careful review and deliberation.
The exhibition itself reflects the Society of Canadian Artists’ long-standing commitment to artistic excellence, professional standards, and diverse approaches to painting and visual expression. Being selected and recognized within this context is meaningful to me, not only for the acknowledgement, but for the opportunity to be included alongside a strong and varied group of artists working at a high level across different disciplines and perspectives.
