Questa stampa d’arte in edizione limitata dell’artista canadese Jeff Dillon si concentra sulla presenza silenziosa di un gufo reale, illuminato contro una fitta foresta settentrionale. Riprodotta dall’originale dipinto acrilico a corpo spesso, l’opera conserva l’atmosfera stratificata del bosco, le forme materiche degli alberi e il forte contrasto visivo tra luce e ombra nella scena.

In questo dipinto è raffigurato un gufo reale maschio, annidato in un larice protettivo. Il gufo ha scelto un punto su un ramo sporgente, separato dalla fitta foresta alle sue spalle. Il cielo è luminoso, ma si può notare che la foresta è molto buia nonostante la luce del giorno; il gufo risalta, illuminato contro l’intensità della foresta. Gli occhi straordinari del gufo attirano immediatamente l’attenzione, in contrasto con i toni terrosi più profondi e la vegetazione stratificata che circondano l’uccello in tutta la composizione.
