カナダ人アーティスト、ジェフ・ディロンによる風景画である本作品は、移ろう光の中で空と水面が互いを映し出す、海辺の夕景を捉えた一点ものの原画です。キャンバスにヘビーボディアクリル絵具で描かれた本作は、幾重にも重なる筆致や動き、空気感を際立たせ、昼から夕暮れへと静かに移り変わる様子を表現しています。

漂う雲の動きなのか、それとも眼下の水面に広がる柔らかなさざ波なのか、その動きを見分けるのは難しいほどです。空はオレンジ、マゼンタ、バイオレットの色彩に燃え、その色合いが水面にも映し出されています。帆船は流れの中で静かに佇み、ゆるやかに揺れています。暗い水平線が構図を引き締め、日が暮れていく中で静けさが深まる感覚を際立たせています。
