This painting captures the essence of Moraine Lake in the tranquil afternoon light of Banff National Park. Light wisps of clouds gently skip along the horizon, casting a soft, diffused glow over the landscape. Towering mountains stand as guardians, casting their imposing shadows upon the foreground, veiling the pristine lake in an enchanting darkness. Moraine Lake, nestled outside the hamlet of Lake Louise, Alberta, emerges from its glacial slumber. It reveals its true beauty only in the middle to late June, when its waters finally reach their peak. At this moment, the lake mirrors the sky, displaying a mesmerizing shade of azure blue. This unique hue is a gift from the surrounding glaciers, as continuously deposits refracts the light, creating a spectacle that leaves all in awe.
