The wispy linear linework of this piece indicates it was completed earlier in my painting career. The linework illustrates the fluttering nature of the changing light on a cloudy day. If you focus on this painting long enough, you can easily immerse yourself in this organic environment, as though you are right there witnessing the rolling light quality amongst the bending grass. This piece includes houses and villages dotted along the Cotswolds’ landscape. I captured a photo while on a trip across the UK that inspired this piece. Pigments of graphite grey, ultramarine blue, sap green and titanium white are richly layered on this canvas.

Jeff Dillon the Canadian Artist, inspired by the bold colours and brush strokes of Post-Impressionist Artists. His unique style focuses on capturing light, not through the detail of realism, but with gesture, illusion, shape and colour. He offers a personal and distinctive style to the world through his bold use of colours and lines, often symbolic images or subject matter. Objects in the paintings retain their realistic appearance yet have a vibrancy and fluidity about them, unique to his work. Jeff Dillon’s new expression of Post-Impressionism is both beloved and revered in the Canadian and Global Contemporary Art World.
