About the Painting
Here we see the Canada Jay, otherwise known as the Grey Jay. This bird is most often associated with the boreal forests of Canada. The adult grey jays have dusky grey plumage with slate details on their wings and tail, and a light cream collar of feathers under their neck and chest. This painting features a juvenile grey jay, who is mostly slate with hints of light violet and cobalt blue throughout their feathers.
