This limited edition fine art print by Canadian artist Jeff Dillon features a monarch butterfly resting among goldenrod blooms within a layered natural setting. Reproduced from the original heavy body acrylic painting, the artwork preserves the intricate wing detail, warm atmosphere, and close observational focus of the original piece.

The monarch is an iconic butterfly species and easily recognized thanks to their distinct colours and patterns. This monarch is feeding on the nectar of the goldenrod flower. Monarch butterflies are not only beautiful, they help indicate the health of our ecosystems. They also have an impressive migration pattern, travelling nearly 2000 miles between Canada and Mexico each winter. When they migrate they form groups called roosts or bivouacs, travelling by day to their new location. The butterfly stands out against the surrounding greenery while the warm tones of the flower and wings bring a sense of light and seasonal warmth to the composition.
