An inspiring vision of Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta. A cloudy sky complimented by tranquil forms of mountains, trees and a calm lake, help create an environment that encourages reflection. Although there is much to be said for the cheeriness of a bright blue sky, the stoic quality of grey cloud cover is underrated. The coniferous trees and the clouds are the most defined forms in this piece. The trickling water along the shoreline is slightly obscured, as though you’re focusing on the horizon. The colour palette of this painting is cool toned. Paynes grey and titanium white are tinted with soft blues and greens.

Jeff Dillon the Canadian Artist, inspired by the bold colours and brush strokes of Post-Impressionist Artists. His unique style focuses on capturing light, not through the detail of realism, but with gesture, illusion, shape and colour. He offers a personal and distinctive style to the world through his bold use of colours and lines, often symbolic images or subject matter. Objects in the paintings retain their realistic appearance yet have a vibrancy and fluidity about them, unique to his work. Jeff Dillon’s new expression of Post-Impressionism is both beloved and revered in the Canadian and Global Contemporary Art World.
