A contemporary Canadian landscape painting by Canadian artist Jeff Dillon, this original heavy body acrylic painting on canvas is based on the quiet lakes and forest shoreline of northern Quebec in late summer. Built through layered brushwork and controlled movement, the painting focuses on the stillness of the water, the weight of the tree line, and the low cloud settling across the landscape as evening light begins to fade through the wilderness.

The lake barely moves here. The water holds the shoreline in a flat reflective surface while the forest rises dark and dense beyond it. Low cloud sits close to the treetops, softening parts of the landscape without fully hiding them. Along the edges, reeds and lily pads gather naturally near the shoreline, adding small interruptions to the otherwise open water. The scene feels quiet in the way remote northern places often do near the end of summer, when the air cools slightly, the light lowers earlier, and everything begins slowing almost without notice.

The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is also hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
