Se déplaçant silencieusement dans l'eau, le poisson rouge de cette peinture acrylique à corps épais de l'artiste canadien Jeff Dillon est sculpté par un mouvement en couches et une couleur chaude et réfléchissante. Le coup de pinceau fluide confère au poisson une présence sereine tout en permettant aux tons changeants d'or et d'orange de rester lumineux contre l'espace environnant.

Beaucoup d'entre nous ont eu l'occasion d'observer un poisson rouge, car ils sont souvent offerts aux enfants comme premier compagnon. Les poissons rouges sont des proches des carpes, et prospèrent en bancs, nageant dans des eaux troubles à faible courant avec une végétation dense. Ce poisson doré est détaillé en coups de pinceau aux tons dorés riches, aux oranges chauds, aux rouges subtils et aux doux reflets jaunes.
