L'atmosphère forestière et la vigilance silencieuse se rejoignent dans cette estampe d'art en édition limitée reproduite à partir d'une œuvre originale de l'artiste canadien Jeff Dillon. Le loup des bois en alerte, l'arbre patiné et les tons de terre superposés préservent la force tranquille et l'équilibre naturel que l'on retrouve dans la peinture acrylique originale à corps épais.

Ce loup des bois monte la garde, posté devant le tronc accueillant d'un arbre ancien, peut-être l'entrée de sa tanière. Nous ne savons pas s'il protège son territoire ou sa meute, mais il est certainement le guetteur de son groupe. La forme robuste du loup est détaillée dans des tons crème doux et ardoise atténués. Bien que le pelage du loup soit plus clair que son environnement, il se fond naturellement dans l'arrière-plan forestier grâce à des bruns terreux et des teintes boisées patinées partagés.
