“Guiding Light” is a magnificent painting that captures the essence of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in all its natural splendour. The Mountain range stretches along the western slopes of the Cascade Range, spanning from the Canadian border to Mt. Rainier National Park. In the foreground, an ancient, towering Douglas firs stands as lookouts of the forest for centuries of seasons. Beyond, the majestic glacier-covered peaks of the Cascades rise into a panorama, transitioning from a soft, ethereal yellow to hues of blue, pink, and purple. These shades are mirrored in the tranquil lake below, creating a harmony between earth and sky. The soft play of light and shadow creates a sense of depth and mystery, inviting viewers to explore the pristine wilderness.

Objects in the paintings retain their realistic appearance yet have a vibrancy and fluidity about them, unique to his work. Jeff Dillon’s new expression of Post-Impressionism is both beloved and revered in the Canadian and Global Contemporary Art World.
