Evening light settles across Mount Rundle in this original heavy body acrylic painting by Canadian artist Jeff Dillon, viewed from the shoreline of Two Jack Lake in Banff National Park. Reflected colour, drifting mist, and layered mountain silhouettes move through the scene with a quiet stillness as the last warmth of sunset fades into the approaching night.

This tranquil painting showcases Mount Rundle’s splendour, illuminated by the setting sun’s amber embrace. From Two Jack Lake’s viewpoint in Banff National Park, the still waters provide a near-perfect reflection of the towering mountain, only mildly disturbed by gentle ripples. The sky above is a canvas of fiery orange, soft lavender, romantic pink, and deepening blue, signalling the sun’s imminent departure. A cool mist clings to the mountain’s base, acting as a whisper of the day’s fading warmth. Nestled at the foothills, clusters of teal evergreens provide a stark contrast, standing still and shadowy against the backdrop of the vibrant, ever-changing sky above.

The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is also hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
