Colour becomes the central focus in this heavy body acrylic painting by Canadian artist Jeff Dillon. The betta fish moves through the composition with a vivid presence, its flowing form shifting between crimson, blue, and orange tones that catch light differently across the surface of the painting.

Certain creatures in nature make you realize that the colour spectrum is incredibly vast. This dainty little betta fish is a perfect example of this with its striking crimson scales. There is a blue and orange iridescence accompanying the fiery red making the form of this fish very dynamic and shimmery.
The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is also hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
Part of Jeff Dillon’s ongoing body of original paintings as a contemporary Canadian landscape artist based in Ontario, Canada.
