Rain-soaked mornings bring a certain urgency to the forest floor. Robins move quickly through wet grass and softened earth, pausing only briefly before darting forward again. In this heavy body acrylic painting by Canadian artist Jeff Dillon, the bird is captured in that suspended moment between stillness and motion, alert and ready to lift from the ground.

As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm. When we observe the hurried robins, we know this to be true. It is early morning, after a rain and the robins are enthusiastically pulling worms from the moist grass and forest floor. They are in a frenzy and hop back and forth from tree to ground. The robin in this painting is poised and ready for takeoff. Its eye glints with focus, its body detailed in rich lines of cadmium orange, crimson red and yellow.

The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is also hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
