The return of robins is often one of the first signs that winter is finally beginning to loosen its hold. In this original heavy body acrylic painting, Canadian artist Jeff Dillon captures the quiet optimism of early spring through the presence of a robin perched close to the trunk of a tree beneath the soft light of a clear morning sky.

After a long winter, we’ve nearly forgotten the sound of spring robins. When they arrive, these jovial birds are intent on letting us know the seasons are indeed changing and contribute their song to the spring orchestra of renewal. This little robin is perched on a branch close to the trunk of a tree, and we are reminded again of how nature shares its colours so generously. The layered warmth of the tree, branch, and bird contrasts gently against the cool brightness of the early morning sky, creating a feeling of renewal and seasonal change.
The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is also hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
