Set against a dark uninterrupted background, this original heavy body acrylic painting by Canadian artist Jeff Dillon places full attention on the movement and form of a single betta fish. The curled posture and flowing tail create a sense of motion within the composition while the saturated tones and reflective detail give the fish a vivid, almost luminous presence.

Here we see a deeply black background, allowing for the viewer to focus exclusively on the betta fish. True to its breed, we see an array of rich jewel toned colour throughout the fish.
