Sitting with its buttery wings on show, this tiger swallowtail butterfly is taking a pause on a butterfly bush bloom. Although not native to Canada, this plant is heavily fragranced and rich in nectar and often interests many pollinators. The butterfly bush is a reminder that environments are frequently changing, and our actions have a direct impact on the delicate beings that make up our ecosystems. The wings of the tiger swallowtail are detailed in light bismuth and naples yellow, cobalt blue, and cadmium orange. The background is finished in vibrant phthalo green, while the butterfly blossom is rich in magenta hues.
