The force of Athabasca Falls is impossible to ignore in person. The sound alone seems to move through the surrounding canyon long before the water comes fully into view. In this original heavy body acrylic painting, Canadian artist Jeff Dillon captures both the intensity and serenity of Athabasca Falls in Jasper National Park, where rushing water cuts through ancient stone beneath the distant rise of Mount Kerkeslin.

Mist drifts continuously above the river as the falls churn through the quartzite and limestone rock, softening parts of the landscape while leaving others sharply defined. The composition guides the eye gradually from the mountain peak through the cascading water and into the surrounding evergreen foliage, balancing movement, atmosphere, and scale throughout the scene. Layered tonal shifts and subtle linework create depth within the water, stone, and forested edges of the landscape.

The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is also hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
