Standing at the edge of the forest with quiet focus, the timber wolf in this heavy body acrylic painting by Canadian artist Jeff Dillon carries a strong sense of awareness and presence. The surrounding woodland remains subdued and grounded, allowing the posture of the wolf and the sheltering form of the ancient tree to shape the emotional centre of the scene.

This timber wolf is standing guard, positioned in front of the inviting trunk of an ancient tree, possibly the entrance to its den. We don’t know if it is protecting its territory or pack, but it is certainly the watcher of its group. The wolf’s sturdy form is detailed in soft cream and muted slate tones. Although the wolf’s coat is lighter in colour than its surroundings, it blends naturally into the forest backdrop through shared earthy browns and weathered woodland hues.
The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is also hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
