There’s a quiet curiosity in the way animals move through the world, as though every sound, reflection, and shift in light carries meaning beyond what we notice ourselves. In this original heavy body acrylic painting, Canadian artist Jeff Dillon explores that heightened sense of awareness through layered atmospheric colour, softened movement, and a dreamlike landscape that feels both vivid and contemplative.

It’s hard to imagine the inner workings of a beloved companion’s mind, or what they may be perceiving in the world around them. When you watch an animal interact with the natural environment, it seems as though their senses are alight with information flowing in from the sights and sounds around them. Their view of the world must be so brilliant.

The composition of this painting led me toward saturated layered tones balanced with softer shadows and atmospheric transitions throughout the landscape. Subtle shifts in colour and light move through the distant tree line and sky, helping create a sense of depth, movement, and visual harmony across the composition.
The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is also hand-signed and numbered by the artist.
